The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway have approved the merger between Modhi and Kredinor, and the formal merger was completed on 1 October 2022. The company has become one of Norway’s largest in debt collection and debt management, with the Nordic region as its home market.

Kredinor, one of Norway’s largest providers of debt management services has selected Neonomics to deliver more efficient payments and financial data services through open banking. Kredinor will offer end users the ability to directly complete payments from the security of their own bank accounts in a simple and convenient manner.

Our CEO, Klaus-Anders Nysteen, has now assembled the management team that will be operative when the merger between Kredinor and Modhi, owned by SpareBank 1, has been completed. Lisa S. Legallais-Hansen has been appointed Kredinor’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role she will lead customer-facing operations, which constitute by far the largest business area in the company. The new management team has an equal number of men and women.
Small and medium-sized enterprises are struggling to pay their bills. In the first four months of the year, our figures show an increase in debt collection involving businesses – a 40 per cent increase compared with last year. Kredinor is Norway’s largest debt collection company measured in the number of cases, and these figures are therefore a good indicator of trends in the Norwegian economy.
The Norwegian Competition Authority has approved the application for the merger between Kredinor and Modhi, owned by SpareBank 1 Group. The two companies are estimated to combine by the end of the third quarter 2022. The news about the merger has been well received by our clients. Kredinor wishes to support organisations working to help Ukraine, and has donated NOK 250,000 to the Red Cross for its relief efforts. This money will go directly towards emergency aid that will be trucked into Ukraine.
At the Members’ meeting, Board Chair Sverre Gjessing emphasised the importance of ensuring that members, clients, employees and others feel that Kredinor will continue to operate on the basis of the same high values the company has had for the last 117 years. This means focusing fully on the customer through good customer service and continuous deliveries.
On 1 May, Charlotte Surén, (32) will join Kredinor’s management group, with responsibility for strategic projects. As an external consultant with BDO, she has led the process of restructuring of Kredinor and its merger with Modhi for the past six months.
